  • Be performed by an unbiased collector
  • Be kept in a strict custody chain

Each test participant must:

  • Identify themselves by a government-issued photo ID or document
  • Fully consent to all testing

Why Do I Need a Legal DNA Test?

Divorce

In hotly contested divorce, it’s not uncommon for one or both parties to request a paternity test for any children, especially if there was infidelity involved.

Child Support Disputes

Occasionally a parent may call their child’s parentage into question during a child custody or support dispute, but DNA testing can quickly clarify who the child’s father is.

Immigration

If your child was born outside of the United States, the federal government would require a legal paternity test before granting them citizenship.

Adoption

Occasionally, adoptive children want to meet their biological parents, and a legal DNA test can help them find and prove paternity or maternity.

Estates & Wills

When an inheritance doesn’t have a clear beneficiary, family members will need to confirm blood relationships with the deceased.

Court Orders

Occasionally a judge will demand that plaintiffs or defendants prove paternity or other legal blood relationship in court.

Taxes

The IRS will sometimes require parents whose name isn’t on their child’s birth certificate to prove paternity or maternity via a DNA test.

And More

There can be any number of reasons people would want a paternity test, and DATCS can help with yours. Contact us today to learn more.
